Goals of this space:
What kind of partners are we looking for?
We need the involvement of partners to pay for our research and development costs and to set up pilots for interdisciplinary and cross-platform cooperation projects.
We are looking at corporations, administrations, foundations,... for which 50,000 € is not a big deal.
We aim to collect 250,000 € as starting capital before the end of the year.
What we offer in return is structural involvement with leading edge R&D in the field of interdisciplinary cooperation and involvement in a pilot that needs to be further defined. Later this pilot can be used within the organization.

Their work is funded by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, the Menemsha Fund, the Albert A. List Foundation, C.S.Fund, and the New-Land Foundation.
More community research funding possibilities: http://www.loka.org/crn/funding.htm (a bit outdated)

They also collected some advice for grant writing in their blog: http://www.lokainstitute.org/wordpress/

Garsett LarosseI don't think they have much money, but they can be helpful in various ways: research, contacts, attracting funding...
