(sometimes there are several – conflicting! -- widely spread interpretations of one’s concept.
Example:
Socrates: “I know that I know nothing (=too little)”
1. Interpretation 1: I know so much that the area of my knowledge allows me to be aware of a vaster territory still unknown to me.
Think of knowledge as a circle: if a person knows little, this circle has smaller circumference than a bigger one. In the same way, a person who knows more is aware of more unknown territories.
2. Interpretation 2: yes, I am a learned man, I know a lot, but I do not know some crucial parts of knowledge that will allow me to be in a position of power to other people; so, even that the amount of my knowledge is huge, it is useless knowledge. This is why I know that I do not know what I need, what I have to. The numerous bits of knowledge that I do have are a waste.
